This position performs maintenance under the daily supervision of the Maintenance Operations Manager in co-operation with the Unit Turn and Site Managers. Performs skilled maintenance work and cleaning on housing properties and other EICAP properties to ensure that they are maintained in a safe, sanitary and secure condition at all times.


  1. On a routine scheduled and emergency basis: responds to and completes all work orders, consisting of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, window & door repair and/or replacement, painting, cleaning, sheetrock repair/replacement, and other various general minor repairs.

  2. Responds to and completes all repairs generated by routine inspections.

  3. Maintain accurate and current records for all maintenance performed in all housing units and in other areas of each project.

  4. Abide by all written and common sense safety practices while performing duties. Assure that all common areas including the shop, storage, and office are kept clean, organized and secure.  Walk grounds daily including picking up trash and making note of any items requiring maintenance.  Report items regarding damage to blinds, windows, screens, dirty entry areas, etc. to Maintenance Operations Manager and Site Manager.

  5. Assist in all required duties to ensure that vacant units are in rent-ready condition in three working days under normal circumstances, seven days where substantial damage has occurred.

  6. Perform all scheduled preventative maintenance duties in a timely manner.

  7. Responsible for removing snow and ice at Housing sites and other assigned EICAP properties.  When necessary, snow and ice removal will be started by 7:00 a.m.

  8. Will be available for emergency service requests including but not limited to evenings and weekends.

  9. As an employee of EICAP you will assume the responsibility of understand your role in accomplishing the strategic goals and performance measures of the agency.

  10. Perform other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and experience and/or training in basic office skills. Previous public contract work experience preferred.


            Employee must successfully complete a criminal background check. Employee    must be insurable and bondable, have a valid Idaho driver’s license, and have proof of current vehicle insurance coverage.


Must, have the ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral forms of communication.


Must, have the ability to apply basic concepts of algebra and geometry, ability to calculate and apply figures and amounts such as fractions, percentages and proportions to practical situations.


Ability to interpret and apply commonsense, understanding in order to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.  Must have the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of work situations within the scope of the job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:

  • Walk and stand.
  • Reach with hands and arms and to stoop, kneel or climb.
  • Works near moving mechanical equipment, works at heights and with a moderate noise level.
  • Frequently required to use hands to handle objects, tools or controls.
  • Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • The employee is required to travel during winter driving conditions.
  • The employee is required to enter tenants’ apartments which may expose the employee to animals, un-kept home environments and other contaminations
