Officials with Eastern Idaho Community Action Partnership have signed a contract to sell their downtown headquarters at 357 Constitution Way.
The deal was reached in late January, Executive Director Russ Spain said Thursday, but a 60-day "due diligence" clause within the agree-
ment prohibited him from identifying the buyer or the sale price at this time.
EICAP officials were asking $1.1 million for the 27,000-square-foot property located across the street from Idaho Falls City Hall. The organization is still based at the Constitution Way office for the time being, a site the group has called home for more than 30 years.
EICAP, a nonprofit that provides assistance to impoverished families, seniors and those with disabilities in a nine-county area of eastern Idaho, will move its headquarters to 935 Lincoln Road later this year.
Spain awarded an approximately $1.9 million contract to Blackfoot-based MBA Construction to handle renovations at the Lincoln Road building, once the site of an indoor go-kart racing operation. Work on that office could begin within 70 days, once EICAPofficials secure funding to complete the project, Spain said.
