New Mission Statement
In September the Board of Directors and the Leadership Team met in a retreat setting at our office in Salmon to update the agency Strategic Plan. As part of that they looked at the agency Mission, as they have every year. This year, with input from staff who met and offered suggestions for the Strategic Planning process prior to the retreat, the Board suggested a change to the Mission Statement. Today the full Board approved the new Mission Statement and it is now our Mission. It reads as follows:
Eastern Idaho Community Action Partnership helps at-risk individuals and families meet their basic needs and increase independence through support and education.
EICAP's previous Mission Statement was, "Eastern Idaho Community Action Partnership is an agency helping to empower all people in our communities to achieve maximum self-sufficiency and independence."
Community Action Agencies were established to fight the War on Poverty in 1964. Eastern Idaho Community Action Partnership, located at 935 E Lincoln Rd in Idaho Falls serves the nine eastern Idaho counties with services to help low-income individuals become independent and self-sufficient. EICAP is one of over 1,000 Community Action Agencies in the United States that provide services to every county in the nation.
