Do you want to volunteer in Eastern Idaho but don't know where to start? Have you ever wondered how you might be able to serve as a volunteer? Would you like to have many different choices about where, when, how and who to volunteer for?
If so, RSVP can help you find just the right place to volunteer.
If you're 55 years or older and interested in volunteering, the RSVP Staff will listen carefully to understand your interests, skills, life experiences and visions for your personal volunteer service anywhere in our nine county service area. Then RSVP Staff helps you learn about all of the diverde volunteer opportunities available.
RSVP volunteers service both indoors and in a variety of outdoors activities. Some volunteers take responsibility to organize programs and projects while other work in public settings such as food banks, senior centers, museums, etc. RSVP volunteers serve as little as an hour a week or as much time as they care to contribute. RSVP volunteers receive supplemental insurance coverage and can qualify for potential mileage reimbursement of up to $21 per month.
The Eastern Idaho RSVP uses the Volunteer Match website to showcase unique and specialized volunteer opportunities. Volunteer Match has a nationwide reach that has allowed RSVP to recruit and utilize Virtual Volunteers throughout America to assist RSVP's Eastern Idaho partners. RSVP is the Retired & Senior Volunteer Program and it has been helping Eastern Idahoans provide their volunteer services since 1974. Each year, hundreds of RSVP volunteers contribute tens of thousands of hours of their selfless service to more than 170 non-profit organizations and agencies in 9 Eastern Idaho counties.
RSVP is a part of The Senior Corps and is funded by the federal Corporation for National and Community Service. RSVP is also a United Way Agency. John Parsons is the Director and Debby Dyslin is Program Assistant.
The RSVP Advisory Council provides perspectives and insights to help your RSVP better serve you and your communities. The group meets periodically at 357 Constitution Way, Idaho Falls. We appreciate and salute Council members for their dedicated service on behalf of RSVP.
