JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Title: Maintenance/Deliver Driver/WX Laborer

Department: Maintenance/Procurement/Weatherization

Supervisor: Weatherization Director

Position Status: Non-Exempt; Regular Full Time

Starting Wage: $11.00/Hr.

POSITION SUMMARY: 

This position will perform skilled maintenance work at Head Start properties and other EICAP properties to ensure that they are always maintained in a safe and secure condition. This position will also be responsible for ensuring timely delivery of goods to predetermined locations, reviewing orders prior to delivery, and loading and unloading trucks with a professional demeanor.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  1. Assist in organization and warehouse maintenance to ensure efficient material storage and handling.
  2. On a routine, scheduled and emergency basis, respond to and complete all work orders, consisting of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, window & door repair and/or replacement, painting, cleaning, Sheetrock repair/replacement, and other various general minor repairs, for Head Start/Early Head Start and other locations as needed.
  3. Respond to and complete all repairs generated by routine and special inspections.
  4. Maintain accurate and current records for all maintenance performed at Head Start locations, and in other locations, for each project.
  5. Abide by all written and common-sense safety practices while performing duties.
  6. Assure that all common areas including the shop, storage, and office are kept clean, organized and office are kept clean, organized and secure.
  7. Perform all scheduled preventative maintenance duties in a timely manner.
  8. Change rooftop filters at main office once a month.
  9. Deliver a variety of items to various Agency locations.
  10. Adhere to delivery routes and time schedules.
  11. Load/unload truck in a safe manner, store items per agency guidelines.
  12. Occasionally operate forklifts, and other necessary vehicles and equipment, to properly handle materials being received, issued, stocked, and picked.
  13. Maintain vehicle log.
  14. When needed will assist the Crew Chief in handling assigned equipment and materials.
  15. Assist the Crew Chief in maintaining control and accounting for all equipment and materials.
  16. Will use and wear all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) supplied by EICAP.
  17. As an employee of EICAP you will assume the responsibility of understanding your role in accomplishing the strategic goals and performance measures of the agency.
  18. Perform other duties as may be assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and experience and/or training in basic office skills.

CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT:

Employee must successfully complete a criminal background check. Employee must be insurable and bondable, have a valid Idaho driver’s license with good driving record, and have proof of current vehicle insurance coverage.

SKILLS and ABILITIES:

Must have the ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral forms of communication.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Must have the ability to apply basic concepts of algebra and geometry, ability to calculate and apply figures and amounts such as fractions, percentages and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to interpret and apply common sense to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Must be able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of work situations within the scope of the job.
