Energy Assistance

Energy Assistance

Energy Assistance provides a one-time payment to a household’s heat source utility company. The benefit is calculated to provide 2-3 months of heating costs for each eligible household.

In order to be eligible for heating assistance, a household must meet the following income eligibility (Effective July 1, 2019 to June 30, 2020):

Download and complete an application. 

The Energy Assistance Program runs November 1 to January 31 (as funding allows).

REQUIRED documentation for Energy Assistance includes:

  • Current Heating bill with account number in household member’s name
  • Current Electric bill with account number in household member’s name
  • Landlords name, address, and phone number
  • 3-month gross income for every household member
  • Social Security cards and dates of birth for every household member
  • Completed and signed Energy Assistance application

We will process completed applications in the order they are received beginning November 1. Incomplete applications will not be processed. It can take up to 6 weeks from the date of application for the heating vendor to receive an Energy Assistance benefit.
